Above Circa 1850-60 Half Tester Walnut Bed. This bed stands just under 8 feet tall, the original rails have been extended to accommodate modern box springs and mattresses. It has the original bed slats and a beautiful finish. The rails lock into the headboard posts and footboard posts with large locking wood dowels! It comes apart easily for transportation and setting it up in your home. This bed belonged to the Southall Family of Florence, Alabama and was in the historic Southall Home for nearly a hundred years. It originally came from another family member in Memphis and is possibly a New Orleans made piece.
